[blog] Lord of the rings
It's all about highlights, turning points and milestones.
People
usually attribute unforgettable experiences with clothes, songs,
phrases, events or other items to act as remembrance for the
unforgettable things that happened in their lives. Listening to Bonnie
Bailey's "Ever After", avoiding hearing a whispering "Happy Birthday"
song, keeping a movie ticket spent with a special someone, getting haircuts, cleaning bedrooms, , the list goes on.
I buy silver rings to signify turning points in my life.
I already have 3, one for my first vodka, one for my high school graduation and one for entering college.
My college ring's life is roughly... 8 years old. So that means, i am already studying for 8 years. Talk about a real life Van Wilder.
Then I
came to realize after my course adjustment (just a while ago) that i
only have 24 units to take so i can graduate. 18 for this term, and 6
for next term.
I just wanted to look at my college ring for sentimental purposes. 8 long years and it's still with me.
Then it shocked me. The ring was gone. My precious...gone. I didn't know how, i didn't know when, I didnt know why...
Does it
mean college really is coming to an end for me? Does it mean HELLO
UNEMPLOYMENT already? or does it mean im just too stupid to lose a ring
even when it's just wrapped around my fingers?
I hope it's the third one. I think im still not ready to buy a new ring to signify entering the adult world.
Or
maybe i can just buy another one to remind me that i lost a sentimental
item from way before i started looking out for myself.
Now im wishfully thinking i can hear a a famous line in LOTR,
"YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" and just prolong my still longer stay in college.
